SUPERMARKET giant Tesco has won a battle to open a new store in Grappenhall.
The company has been given permission to develop the site of Grappenhall Motors on Knutsford Road.
An application was refused by planners last year but the latest one has been approved subject to a section 106 agreement.
That forces Tesco to pay £20,000 to help improve highways in the area.
Planners have also imposed restrictions on opening times, the hours when demolition is allowed, the lighting and size of the Tesco Extra store as well as car parking conditions.
