A COMMUNITY project is looking for green-fingered volunteers to help with the latest phase of a scheme.
The Community Orchard Volunteer Programme, based in Victoria Park, will be hosting a work day at the orchard next week and is looking for people to go along and help out.
Jobs for the day will include training the fruit trees and bushes into shapes that help the plants to grow a bumper crop of fruits come summer time and also makes them easier to reach.
Volunteers should make sure that they wear a pair of sturdy shoes for the activities.
The work day is on Thursday, February 21 and the work will be carried out in two sessions from 10am until noon and from 1pm until 3pm.
For more information about the project or to register as a volunteer, call Liz on 0151 257 2720.
