THUG Adam Swellings is to consider appealling his conviction for murder and sentence of 17 years in jail.
His lawyer, Patrick Heald, has said that 19-year-old Swellings is considering an appeal.
The teen led the attack on Garry Newlove, who died on August 12 last year.
Swellings pleaded guilty to manslaughter but was still tried for murder.
He was found guilty of murder by a jury on January 16, and sentenced on Monday to life in jail with a minimum term of 17 years.
However, the Crown Prosecution Service says it has not had any official notification that an appeal could take place.
