A MAN caught by police in possession of drugs has been jailed for ‘blatant street dealing’.
Robbie Ladner was found with a quantity of cannabis by officers on October 2 last year.
The 22-year-old was later charged by Cheshire Police with possession with intent to supply the controlled class B drug.
He appeared before Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday to be sentenced after admitting the offence.
Magistrates took the defendant’s guilty plea into account, which resulted in the case not being sent to the crown court.
However, they remarked that his actions amounted to ‘blatant street dealing’, with paraphernalia found giving ‘indications that the dealing was more’.
Ladner, of Alder Crescent in Orford, was subsequently jailed for 26 weeks.
No order for court costs was made by magistrates due to a custodial sentence being imposed, however the defendant must pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £128.
An order from the Crown Prosecution Service for the forfeiture and destruction of the drugs and paraphernalia seized by police was approved.
