AN anime and manga event is taking place at Waterstones in the Golden Square in what poses to be of their biggest events.
The comic book and animation extravaganza takes place in Old Market Place on Saturday, July 16.
Tammy Intrasena, senior bookseller, said: “It's one of the biggest events our Warrington branch store has ever held.
“Manga and anime have seen an explosive rise in popularity in the last few years that continues to grow alongside its devoted fanbase, as a shop full of manga and anime nerds we're so thrilled - and rather smug - about it.
“After coming back from the pandemic, we were enthused to start running some events once it was safe enough to do so.”
It is the second manga and anime event of the year after the first one sold out three weeks in advance.
"We held a smaller manga event earlier in the year just after lockdown restrictions were lifted and it was a massive success,” continued Tammy.
“For the summer we decided to go bigger and better. We're so excited about giving this passionate community a safe space to celebrate the thing they love most.”
