A MAN harassed his ex girlfriend with 29 calls and 42 messages over two days.
Sean Parker pleaded guilty to harassment without violence after sending numerous messages to his ex and calling her lots of times.
Warrington Magistrates’ Court heard on Tuesday how he has been given a community order and a restraining order.
Prosecuting, Ashley Simpson, said that Parker, 25, and the complainant were in a relationship for three years and have a child together but have not been together for the past four years.
Between March 26 – 27, 2022, he called her 29 times and sent her 42 messages.
The complainant wouldn’t usually reply but if she did, she would say ‘leave me alone, what is up with you?’ or provide one-word replies.
Parker would be ‘constantly’ asking where she is going and who with. He was also known to stand outside her house too.
Parker, of Jurby Court, has four convictions for 14 offences.
In a victim personal statement, the complainant said she was ‘very nervous and anxious’ about Parker contacting her as she does see him around.
They added that the contact has left them feeling ‘depressed and vulnerable’ and her quality of life was bad when he was ‘hounding her’.
She said that she would feel better if there were conditions in place for Parker not to contact her.
Defending Parker, Gary Heaven, asked the court for the sentence to be realistic and sensible.
He reminded the court that since being charged, Parker has looked after their child three times per week.
Chair of the magistrates’ panel Anthony Graham said: “For this offence, you will complete a 24-month community order.”
Parker will also take part in 30 sessions to build better relationships, 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days and he has been provided with a 24-month restraining order not to contact her or go to her address.
He will also complete 100 hours of unpaid work and pay the court £180.
Mr Graham added: “Should you make contact with her in any way there is a good chance you will be back here in court.”
