WARRINGTON'S 2022 Commonwealth Games representatives has risen to five.
This follows Carys McAulay being selected to run for Scotland, joining swimmers Kathleen Dawson (Scotland) and James Guy (England) as well as weightlifters Andy Griffiths (England) and Amy Salt (Wales) in Birmingham this summer.
The 24-year-old former Bridgewater High School student will compete in the 4x400m relay on Friday, August 5.
Scotland-born McAulay, who lived in America for three years as a young teenager, came through the ranks at Warrington Athletics Club, particularly impressing over 800m.
She finished fourth for Great Britain in the World Youth Championships in Colombia and second for Scotland in the Youth Commonwealth Games in Samoa in 2015.
Injury impacted on her progression but the past two seasons with Trafford Athletics Club have got her to the point of selection for Birmingham.
She is currently third ranked Scot over 400m but is just outside the qualifying time for the individual event at the Games.
McAuley made a final attempt to get the time required of 51.98secs on June 11 but fell short despite running a personal best 52.86secs.
Her teammates in the 4x400m relay squad will be Olympians Zoey Clark (Aberdeen AAC), Nicole Yeargin (Pitreavie AC), and Beth Dobbin (Edinburgh AC), as well as Jill Cherry (Victoria Park City of Glasgow AC).
