A POLICE incident which stopped traffic in both directions on the M6 in Cheshire has now been resolved.
Police officers were called at 2.40pm to reports of concerns for the safety of a man on Southwark Lane bridge over the M6 in Cheshire between junctions 22 and 21a.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "Police attended and the road was closed while officers engaged with the man.
"He was subsequently taken to as place of safety."
The motorway reopened at 3.40pm but there is still approximately 4.5 miles of congestion in both directions.
This incident has now been resolved, and traffic has been released in both directions on the #M6 in #Cheshire between J22 (#Winwick) and J21A (#M62 #CroftInterchange).
