LONG delays are being reported on the M6 this afternoon, Wednesday.
Six miles of queuing traffic are being reported on the northbound carriageway following a road traffic collision.
The accident has also caused a spillage across the carriageway between junctions 21 for the A57 Manchester Road at Woolston and 21a for the M62 at Croft Interchange.
All traffic was being temporarily held for a period while vehicles involved were in the process of being recovered and removed.
However, despite all lanes now having reopened, delays in excess of 35 minutes remain on top of normal travel time.
Congestion stretches back past junction 20 for the M56 at Lymm Interchange.
