A ROAD was closed as firefighters worked to free a person from their vehicle following a crash last night, Tuesday.
Two fire engines from Lymm and Stockton Heath fire stations rushed to Pillmoss Lane, which runs close to the M56 near Lower Stretton and Higher Whitley.
After arriving at the scene shortly after 9pm, crews discovered that one person was physically trapped in their vehicle as a result of the road traffic collision.
Firefighters stabilised the vehicle and used a ladder to assist with the release of the person.
Officers from Cheshire Police attended and closed the road while the incident was dealt with.
Ambulance crews were also in attendance, with a spokesman for North West Ambulance Service confirming that paramedics did not take any patients to hospital.
