A BIRCHWOOD group is encouraging residents to share seedlings and plants with one another to ensure nothing is wasted.
Incredible Edible is a group that's working with Birchwood Town Council and Birchwood Youth and Community Centre in order to create a community garden in the area.
The group also runs "seed share" events to encourage people to give gardening a go.
The group realised that the Birchwood community covers a large area, and wanted a more permanent presence - so they created the plant share stall.
Incredible Edible's plant share stall has been set up in Gorse Covert, and the group saw a large interest when they appeared at the Birchwood Forest Carnvial over the weekend.
The group encourages people to try out gardening, and also growing your own food - from chillies, to garden herbs like sage.
This group is part of a larger national network, which is campaigng for the "right to grow" in public spaces.
This national group is campaigning for laws to be drafted that will allow local groups to apply for access to council-owned land that is suitable for growing fruit and vegetables.
Birchwood's branch of Incredible Edible has been visited by Warrington North MP Charlotte Nichols, who is supportive of the group.
Incredible Edible Birchwood also offers support and guidance to those who might have just started to grow any plants, or fruit andvegetables for the first time.
