POLICE are appealing for help from members of the public after a memorial statue was stolen from a graveyard.
The artwork was taken from outside All Saints Church in Glazebury at some point between 2pm on Monday, May 16, and 9am on Friday, May 20.
It is described as being around 3ft tall with a metal sundial attached.
Cheshire Police are appealing for information over the theft.
Police constable Matt Hankin said: “The family the memorial statue belongs to has been left distraught that someone has stolen it from them.
“It has been at the graveyard for at least 18 years, and is hugely sentimental to them.
“We are keen to hear from anyone who may hold information that could help in identifying who has stolen the statue and hope to be able to return it to them.
“If you can help with our investigation either with information, CCTV or dashcam footage within the local area or perhaps saw someone acting suspiciously please do get in touch with us.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact the force on 101, quoting incident number IML1275282, or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
