LISA Halliday has moved into the top 25 in the UK rankings.

This follows the Warrington Athletics Club under 20s runner’s performance in the 400m hurdles at the Trafford Sprints Grand Prix held at Longford Stadium on Tuesday night.

She smashed her personal best time as she finished in second place, with her 67.63secs lowering her best time by one and three quarters of a second.

Warrington AC competitors featured in the second round of the Youth Development League for under 13s and under 15s athletes at Leverhulme Park, Bolton.

Many of them achieved personal best performances and also covered events which were unfamiliar to them.

In the under 13s age group girls events, individual wins came from Tallie Wing Lam Sze, who was making her debut not just for the club but in the UK as her family have recently moved here from Hong Kong, and also Ellie-Grace Stuart.

Tallie won the B 150m in 21.7secs, was second in the 75m in 10.9secs and second in the high jump with 1.25m, while Ellie-Grace recorded 4mins 39.0secs to win the B 1500m.

In the boys events, individual wins came from Oliver Davenport in the B 1200m in 4mins 05.7secs and Christian Morrall-Santana in the B 150m in 21.7secs.

And in the under 15s age group boys events, individual wins came from Caleb Adelani in the A 200m and 300m with times of 24.4secs and 38.5secs respectively.

Other wins came from Jacob Pryor and Matthew Seddon in the A and B 800m with times of 2mins 14.1secs and 2mins 30.2secs respectively, while UK leader Lewis Shaw won the 80m hurdles with 11.2secs.

The 4x100m relay team of Jake Sands, Jacob Pryor, Arul Tripathi and Caleb Adelani also won in 55.3secs.

All the other athletes gave of their best in their events with a significant number of personal best performances and many second and third places.

Meanwhile, master athlete Dave Norman finished 12th in the Antrobus 5k road race in 18mins 29secs to win the over 60s age group.

Fellow master athlete Steve Watmough crossed the line in 118th place overall in the Great Manchester Run 10k road race with a time of 36mins 15secs to win the over 55s age group.

Warrington’s Katie Lowery, running under Edinburgh University Hare and Hounds, finished second in the women’s A race at the Monument Mile Classic Meeting at Stirling University with a time of 4mins 47.02secs.

The men’s A race was won in 3mins 57.76secs by Ben MacMillan of Stirling University in a race in which Corey Campbell (Team East Lothian) smashed the world record for a 15-year-old in 4mins 05.77secs finishing in seventh place.
