A study of road closures over a four-week period has revealed the most disrupted roads per mile with one Warrington highway making the list.

The research, commissioned by Vertu Motors, used National Highways data spanning a four-week period.

Coming top of the list by some way is the A282, better known as the Dartford Crossing, by far suffering the most road closures per mile.

With 56 total closures on the road stretching just two miles, that equates to an average 28 closures per mile.

Coming eighth in the list is the M56 in Warrington and Greater Manchester. It clocked up a total of 84 closures over its 33 miles giving it an average of three closures per mile.
