A CHARITY manager has retired after nearly 30 years of service.
Warrington Visually Impaired People hosted a special This is Your Life-style send-off for Gail Bretherton, who has given 29 years of ‘dedicated’ work to the organisation.
Gail, from Westbrook, was hailed for her ‘caring approach and mindfulness’ as well as the invaluable support she has given to members over the past three decades.
Trustee and former Mayor of Warrington Geoff Settle said: “Gail is a fantastic people person and the linchpin of the organisation, introducing many innovative ideas and changes.
“She is extremely focused on the members’ needs and fights extremely hard for them in many ways.
“Next year is the society’s 100th anniversary, and I know that Gail will be making sure that the particularly key role it has played in the town in promoting the wellbeing of members and championing visual impairment in Warrington’s social history is acknowledged and celebrated.”
