A DRUNK who previously racially abused his victim has been jailed after ignoring court orders.
Allan Jenks was handed a community order at Warrington Magistrates’ Court last October after committing three offences.
At a hearing last year, he pleaded guilty to using racially aggravated harassment, violence to secure entry to premises and the commission of a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge.
The original offences were committed in July 2021 after the intoxicated 47-year-old was refused entry to a homeless shelter where he was temporarily staying on Museum Street in the town centre.
At a previous hearing, the court heard how Jenks, of Delves Avenue, Bewsey, was arrested after he was swearing, shouting and refusing to leave.
A few months later in September he was refused entry again as he was drunk.
He began throwing items at the window and kicked the front door through to gain entry.
Next, at a later date in September, Jenks racially abused a man outside of James Lee House on Brick Street.
The victim said he was left feeling ‘depressed’ after this incident.
At the time, these offences meant Jenks breached the conditions of his conditional discharge.
As a result of the trio of offences, Jenks was handed an 18-month community order.
As part of this order, Jenks was ordered to complete rehabilitation activity days, complete a thinking skills programme and given an alcohol abstinence and monitoring requirement for 90 days.
But he failed to turn up to two of these appointments which was described as ‘unacceptable’ by the court.
Jenks admitted this breach last Thursday, February 17.
He was handed a 16-week prison sentence due to his ‘flagrant disregard’ for court orders.
