A FALLEN tree caught fire above railway tracks in Bewsey yesterday afternoon.
A conifer had fallen onto electricity lines and caught fire just after 4pm on February 18 in Charter Avenue with Storm Eunice having hit the area.
Network Rail suspended power to the lines and West Coast mainline services for a short time to enable the blaze to be tackled.
Crews used a hose reel to put out the flames and a thermal imaging camera was used to check the fire had not spread to surrounding trees.
Firefighters left the scene in the hands of railway engineers and a tree surgeon.
