TEN people in Warrington died with coronavirus on the days senior ministers, Government staff and officials reportedly partied.
It comes after a report into No. 10 Downing Street and Whitehall parties during lockdown by Sue Gray was published, criticising a ‘serious failure’ to observe the high standards expected of those working at the heart of Government.
According to figures published on the gov.uk coronavirus dashboard, a total of 10 people in the town were pronounced dead on the days Downing Street gatherings took place.
In total, eight people who lost their lives died on either May 15, May 20, June 18, June 19, November 13, November 27, or on December 10, 15, 16, 17, and 18 in 2020.
A further two people died in Warrington on either January 14 or April 16 last year.
On these days, it is reported that those working in Government participated in parties which may have broken coronavirus restrictions and lockdown rules.
On May 15 for example, when there was a cheese and wine gathering in the Downing Street Garden, one person in Warrington died with Covid.
Five days later, the same venue hosted a ‘bring your own booze’ event, on which day another person died with Covid in Warrington.

Throughout December it is also there were four department parties and a virtual quiz night, before a Christmas celebration.
On April 16 last year, the day before the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral, there were also leaving parties for director of communications and a photographer.
