THE number of patients that have died at Warrington Hospital after contracting coronavirus rose again over the weekend.
The awful news was confirmed this afternoon, Monday, by Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in its daily Covid-19 briefing.
Four Covid-related deaths have been recorded at the hospital since Friday, with the trust’s virus death toll to date rising to 609 as a result.
At present, 38 beds at the Lovely Lane site are occupied by patients that have tested positive for coronavirus in the past 14 days or less.
Of this number, only one is in the site’s intensive care unit.

This is a fall of one patient since Friday, with the number in the ICU remaining the same.
Moreover, an additional 16 patients were discharged from Warrington Hospital over the weekend after recovering from Covid-19.
This takes the trust’s virus discharge total since the start of the pandemic to 2,997.
