A MAN who interfered with a car with a view to steal from it has been jailed.
Lica Viorel-Vasile was told he has a ‘flagrant disregard for people and their property’ before he was locked up by magistrates.
The 26-year-old interfered with a motor vehicle, namely a Renault Kadjar, on November 12 in Bolton.
Viorel-Vasile, of Priory Street in Wilderspool, pleaded guilty to a charge of vehicle interference when he appeared at Cannock Magistrates’ Court the following day.
He was then sentenced at the same court on January 20, where magistrates imposed a 28-day prison sentence.
Court documents state that the reason for the custodial sentence was that the offence was ‘so serious because the defendant has a flagrant disregard for people and their property’.
No compensation, costs or a victim surcharge was ordered because the court deemed it inappropriate to make a compensation order as well as a custodial sentence.
