ALL visitors to Warrington and Halton hospitals must continue to wear face coverings.
This is despite the Government removing its Plan B restrictions, which mandated the wearing of face coverings by law in indoor venues.
Infection prevention control guidance continues to require face coverings to be worn in health and care settings however, including Warrington and Halton hospitals.
It is also recommended that people continue to wear face coverings in crowded and enclosed spaces where they might come into contact with people they do not normally meet
The update was posted on social media by Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
It said: “As the Plan B rules end, the Government guidance for healthcare settings has not changed, as we have a duty to continue to protect our patients, who are already vulnerable, and our staff.
“Therefore, we will continue to mandate appropriate face coverings for all visitors and staff.

“This will help us to reduce the risk of spreading infection, alongside practicing stringent hand hygiene and social distancing where appropriate.
“This will be extended to include passengers using the hospital shuttle bus between sites as well.
“Thank you for your cooperation.”
The trust was asked by one commenter whether it had plans to relax visiting restrictions, however it replied by saying that this would not be happening ’as of yet’ and that it would inform people when this will happen in due course.
