Tough and physically powerful teenage front rower with good footwork at the line, Cooper had looked good in his early season performances in 2007 before suffering a serious injury which saw him break his tibia and fibula in an U18s game. He suffered a blood clot during surgery and developed pneumonia, spending time in intensive care. Now back to fitness, Cooper is one of the most highly rated juniors at the Wolves, showing an ability to play above his age in his brief Super League career to date, and could well feature regularly in Wolves' 17 this time around. He has representative honours behind him with England U16s and England U17s, but was forced to pull out of the England Academy series against Australian Schoolboys in 2006 due to a shoulder operation. Local born and signing for the Wolves from Latchford Albion, Cooper is one of the new generation of Warringtonians making their way into the first team having come through the junior systems the club worked hard to establish through the 2000s. He is a nephew of Wolves head coach Paul Cullen.
