Finished 2007 as Great Britain's outstanding forward in the 3-0 series victory over New Zealand. After arriving as the Wolves' major signing for 2007, Morley fractured his eye socket on Super League debut at Wigan and broke his cheekbone on his comeback in Round 6 against Hull KR. However, after recovering from the subsequent surgery he returned to form for both club and country, captaining Great Britain for the first time in the mid-season Test against France and leading the "Northern-Union" against the "All Golds" at The Halliwell Jones stadium. Morley has already carved himself a legacy as one of the game's greats after establishing himself as one of the leading forwards in the Australian NRL during his six seasons at Sydney Roosters. A fearsome hitter in defence, he was the driving force behind the Roosters pack that reached three consecutive Grand Finals between 2002 and 2004, defeating New Zealand Warriors to claim the 2002 Premiership. Morley grew up in Salford, playing for Eccles amateur club before turning professional with Leeds at the age of only 17. He rapidly became a regular in the Leeds line up, and made his first Great Britain tour in 1996. Signed for Sydney Roosters at the end of 2000 season. He declined overtures from Australia to play State of Origin for New South Wales as it would have rendered him ineligible to continue playing for Great Britain. In 2005 he returned to the UK for a short-term contract with Bradford Bulls, winning the Super League Grand Final and thus completing a "quadruple" of winners' medals in both Super League and NRL Grand Finals.
