WILL be used as a full back, centre or stand off during 2009. He made an exciting switch to full back for the 2008 campaign but was cruelly robbed of a season's football - and a World Cup place with Ireland - after rupturing his Achilles' in round two of Super League XIII at St Helens. Despite his injury, Bridge was offered and signed an extension to his contract ahead of 2009, keeping him in primrose and blue until the end of 2010. He is a strong defender and a huge threat with the ball in hand as he can step through the line with his fast footwork and has the capacity to produce the unpredictable. He has a record of 33 tries from 63 appearances going into 2009. One of the heroes of England Academy's historic first ever series victory over the Australian Schoolboys. Bridge played centre in both "Tests" of the 2002 Academy series. Oldham born, he played for North West Counties and Lancashire Schools as a junior before turning professional with Huddersfield Giants Academy. Upon the Giants' relegation from Super League in 2001, he was ruled a free agent at tribunal enabling Super League champions Bradford Bulls to sign him. A dominating figure for the Bulls' Academy, he won the Dave Valentine Memorial Trophy in their Senior Academy Grand Final defeat to Wigan Warriors in 2003. Spotting his first grade opportunities were limited at Odsal, the Wolves paid £30,000 to bring him to The Halliwell Jones Stadium at the start of the 2005 season. Also a capable goalkicker.
