THE number of patients being cared for at Warrington Hospital after contracting coronavirus continues to fall.
The news was confirmed this afternoon, Wednesday, by Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in its daily Covid-19 briefing.
At present, 46 beds on the Covid ward at the Lovely Lane site are occupied by patients that have tested positive for the virus in the past 14 days or less.
Of this number, only one is in the hospital’s intensive care unit.
This is a fall of nine patients since yesterday, with the number in the ICU falling by three.
Moreover, no new coronavirus deaths have been recorded in the past 24 hours.

This means that as a result, the trust’s Covid death toll to date remains at 604.
Additionally, a further seven virus patients have been discharged from Warrington Hospital since yesterday after recovering.
This takes the trust’s Covid-19 discharge total since the start of the pandemic to 2,967.
