THE number of patients at Warrington Hospital that have contracted coronavirus has risen over the weekend.
This was confirmed by Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in its daily Covid-19 briefing published this afternoon, Monday.
At present, 63 beds on the Lovely Lane site’s Covid ward are occupied by patients that have tested positive for the virus in the past 14 days or less.
Of this number, four are in the hospital’s intensive care unit.
This is a rise of six patients in total from Friday, with the number in the ICU rising by one.
Moreover, another virus-related death has also been sadly recorded over the weekend.

As a result, it means that the trust’s coronavirus death toll to date has now risen to 603.
However, a further 14 patients have been discharged since Friday after recovering from Covid-19.
This takes the trust’s Covid discharge total since the start of the pandemic to 2,946.
