OVER recent months in Warrington, we have had an influx of new places to visit for food, drinks and anything in between pop up across the town.
So, we thought it would only be fair to take a look at some of the new openings that we have covered and you can make it a New Year’s resolution to visit them to see what they have to offer.
Babba, Bridge Street
Babba has opened its doors to customers in the former JJB store, which has become a huge Turkish restaurant.
Owner Burak Goksu describes his latest venture as ‘a proper Turkish’ restaurant.
He said: “We just wanted to open a nice, good Turkish restaurant here in Warrington and we decided to open here.
“We are proud of the team to open and look forward to welcoming customers. We think it will be one of the top restaurants in Warrington.”

Wholesome Junkies, Warrington Market
As it’s ‘Veganuary’, it’s only right to include the new vegan junk food stall which has been a part of the market for more than a month now.
For those wanting to try something different, Chelsea Campbell, director of the business has you covered.
She said: “The reception has been overwhelming and incredible.
“Our food is very familiar food – it’s nothing too out of the ordinary. There is more intrigue if it’s something they are familiar with already. We do a lot of mock meats which are very, very similar to meat.”

Stitch Station, Great Sankey
If you want to combine a coffee and cake with the opportunity to get some wool, the Station Road shop has got you covered.
After a former Birchwood High School teacher opened it in October, she wanted to pay tribute to the shop’s former self.
Owner Diane Hughes said: “We were very proud to open. Dot, who used to run it as a wool shop, came to visit us. She was sat in one of the comfy chairs in the window. She was saying that ‘it was lovely to see and it’s a real community hub’.
“We didn’t have anywhere to go on a walk like a coffee shop so we didn’t have a destination. Hopefully, we will become that destination when locals are out on a walk.”

Wok’s Cooking, Bridge Street
Fancy a take out in town – but a healthy one? Look no further than Wok’s Cooking which opened in October.
Once you have chosen your three-step process for the ingredients, chefs cook it in front of you in a wok pan and you can take it away in a box or eat it on the seating inside or out.
And Pamela Lau, daughter of Danny Lau, says what her father offers is very different from anything else.
“There is nowhere in Warrington wokking up noodles like us, you choose, and we cook it all up in front of you.”

“It’s lovely for us to be back up here as we have a lot of regulars here that know us very well.”
