WE spoke to Will Mellor who revealed all about his upcoming Warrington appearance – including a potential spin off for Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps.

Will Mellor and Ralf Little are taking their hit podcast Two Pints on the road in 2022 which will see them call into the Parr Hall on February 2.

Speaking to the Warrington Guardian, Will shared how he is looking forward to coming to the town which is just down the road from where the sitcom was filmed in Runcorn, which started over 20 years ago.

He said: “We spent a lot of great years in Runcorn so it will be nice to get up that way.

“Every time we were filming the people would always come out and say hello and wrap their arms around us because we were like theirs.

“We are thinking next time round, we will try and do a run of a few nights in Runcorn – we are gutted we are not going.”

The duo launched the Two Pints podcast in 2020 when they reunited to take a trip down memory lane and chat through the hugely popular TV show which ran for a decade from 2001-2011.

But Will, who is fresh from filming Coronation Street, shared how the fans also inspired the podcast.

“It was also to give the fans of Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps something because they were constantly asking if we could bring back the show or do something,” the 45-year-old said.

“It was me and Ralph just talking about the old days but then it has sort of branched out in to other stuff – covering every kind of subject and it has been going for nearly two years now.

“It is just getting bigger and bigger.”

During the tour, Will, who played Gazz, and Ralph, who played Jonny, will be talking about the old days, bringing a sense of nostalgia.

There will be big screens up and the pair will be encouraging audience participation, with a chance for fans to ask them questions and play games.

Will believes nostalgia has played a big part in the continuing popularity of the show, despite it ending over ten years ago.

He added: “I think people grew up watching Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps and watched it when they were younger, and then when they look back on them times it has sort of stayed with them and they are sharing it probably with their kids now.

“It was a show where there was nothing else quite like it around at the time.

“A lot of people fell in love with the characters and went on a journey with them.

“That is why it lasted ten years, because of the fan based we had.”

Will also revealed the pair are trying to remake ‘a bit of a spin off’ for Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps.
