THE great and the good of the town’s amateur rugby league scene was celebrated at the annual Warrington Man of Steel awards on Saturday.

Hosted by the Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation, achievements and contributions on and off the field were recognised at the town’s community clubs as well as teams that fall under the foundation’s banner, including the women’s, PDRL and wheelchair teams.

The top award of the night – the open age Man of Steel prize – went to Latchford Albion’s Charlie McCurrie, son of former Warrington Wolves forward Steve, for his displays in the team’s title-winning season.
