A 12-YEAR-OLD boy from Warrington was presented with a scouting award from explorer Bear Grylls last month.
Isaac King, from Dallam and a member of 12th Warrington East Scouts, won the ‘Unsung Hero Award’ from the world-famous adventurer for his fundraising efforts for the RNLI.
He was one of 20 winners from over 300 entries nationwide for the award, which celebrates young scouts aged between six and 24 who have demonstrated values of kindness, courage and a ‘never give up’ spirit.
The award-winning scout took part in a 133-mile walk from Morecambe to Whitby Lifeboat Station – where he was met by a round of applause from the lifeboat crew.
In October Isaac travelled to the Bear Grylls Adventure Centre in Birmingham with his parents to receive £500 and a signed certificate from Bear.
He has raised over £2,800 for the RNLI, which he has supported since he was eight years old.
In the past, he has raised money by taking part in a sponsored walk up Snowdon.
The charitable youngster’s next project is taking part in the RNLI’s Reindeer Run on 11 December to raise money for the lifeboat charity.
