FLIGHTS were diverted from Manchester Airport today following a security alert.
At least one EasyJet flight bound for Manchester Airport landed in Liverpool before later taking off again to head to its intended destination.
The airport said the false alarm was caused by a "mistaken report" by a delivery driver.

Reports on social media also suggested take-offs and landings were suspended temporarily.
One social media user said: "No movement on planes but a lot of activity from airside security and police up and down the runways etc”
It comes after Insulate Britain protests disrupted traffic into the airport yesterday.
Greater Manchester Police said officers responded to the protest on Wilmslow Road (A538) near junction 6 of the M56 and Manchester Airport.
The force arrested 11 people on suspicion of causing danger to road users.

The matter is now resolved with operations back to normal.
Manchester Airport said the incident was caused by a mistaken report from a delivery driver and added that it was not linked to the Insulate Britain protests.
