ANOTHER massive name is moving onto Omega.

Parcel delivery giant UPS has signed a deal for the final M62-facing unit at the industrial site on the former RAF Burtonwood land.

The US-based UPS joins the likes of Asda, Dominos, The Hut Group, Amazon, Brakes, Travis Perkins and Royal Mail

The unit was built by Brackley Developments on behalf of US investor Cabot. The incoming tenant has signed up for a 10-year lease on the unit at a headline rent of £612,990 per year, equivalent to £6.95 per sq ft.

B8 Real Estate, which advised on the original funding, acted as joint agent on the letting deal with CBRE.

Jon Thorne, who heads the agency team at B8RE, said: “This letting further demonstrates the strong demand for distribution and warehousing space in the region.”

Billed as Omega Point by the developer, the property was designed by UMC Architects.

Jed Raymond, senior vice-president, asset management at Cabot, said of the deal: “We are pleased to welcome another new tenant into our UK portfolio. This letting justifies our commitment to funding new-build speculative industrial developments in prime locations such as this.”
