CHILDREN from across the town gave their all in the first round of the Neville Jones Warrington Schools Cross Country League on Saturday.
They were roared on by hundreds of family members and friends as they completed various circuit lengths of Walton Hall and Gardens in different age groups.
First to tackle the course, which was muddy and slippery in places on a rainy morning, were the year 4 and 5 girls.

The boys' race in the same age group took their turn next, followed by the year 6 runners, the year 7, 8 and 9 competitors and finally the year 10 and 11 entrants.
It all provided for a great event and atmosphere, with the children all very excited on the start line and feeling their busted lungs at the finish.
These pictures by Mike Boden, and the video above, are from the girls' year 4 and 5 race.
Lots more coverage to come this week, including results, more pictures and more videos so watch this space.
