AT a loose end this weekend?
Not to worry, there is lots going on to blow away the back to school blues.
Here is our pick of the action.
Disability Awareness Day - Walton Hall, Sunday
ONE of the biggest events in the town’s calendar will return this weekend.
The 30th Disability Awareness Day will be back at Walton Hall and Gardens on Sunday, September 12, after last year’s event had to be held virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic.
More than 200 exhibitors will be present at the world’s largest not-for-profit volunteer-led disability exhibition.
Heritage Open weekends, various venues, this weekend and next
WE are increasingly becoming a nation of ‘foodies’ and what we eat and drink is also at the heart of our culture and history, say the organisers of Heritage Open Days.
That is why the theme for the open days this year is ‘Edible England’ and Culture Warrington is getting involved with events at its pop-up museum and library at Golden Square.
In keeping with the theme, the arts charity has teamed up with Grappenhall Heys Walled Garden and Lancaster-based Imagining History.
And the Town Hall will be open for visitors on Saturday
Hatton Show, Daresbury - Saturday
THE annual Hatton and District Show will be making a return this Saturday after last year’s was held virtually.
The show has been in existence since the 1890s but has been held in Daresbury since the Second World War.
Events kick off with the horse show in the morning at around 9am and continue with the opening of the marquees for the traditional village show at 1.30pm.
Grappenhall and Thelwall Model Railway Open Day, Sunday
