STEVE Price says his side’s win against Wigan at Newcastle was a ‘bruising’ encounter.
This is reflected in his injury update given to the media during his post-match press conference.
There were a few puzzled fans prior to kick off, with livewire hooker Daryl Clark missing from the starting 13 and bench.
This was despite him being named in the original 21-man squad.
On the hooker’s absence, Steve confirmed that Clark has an upper body injury.
Clark’s place in the team was taken by Danny Walker, who had an excellent game and proved to be a real thorn in the side of the Warriors’ defence with his darting runs from dummy half.
But he too picked up a knock in the second half, as did Joe Philbin and Josh Charnley.
On the injury situation after the game on the whole, Steve said: “Charnley got a bit of a head knock in a collision, so we’ve got to check on him.
“Philbin has a higher leg injury. Danny Walker went down with an ankle injury, and we had Jase Clark playing at nine.
“Daz Clark has got a bit of an injury to his upper body, so a few wounded boys but you expect that at this time of year.”
