A DAD’s ashes were fired out of a confetti cannon at Creamfields 2021 by headliner Tiesto.

Stuart Mitchell died in July aged 30 having taken his own life, and leaving behind a three-year-old son.

He had previously purchased tickets to attend the festival in Daresbury, which his family sold online following his passing.

Cousins Ryan and Liam Millen bought the passes, but were ‘rocked to their cores’ when they learned what had happened.

As a result, the pair decided to turn their weekend at the festival into a ‘celebration of his life’.

They created a banning bearing his picture, name and the message ‘this last dance is for you mate’.

Stuart’s family also sent them some of his ashes, which were fired out of a confetti cannon during DJ Tiesto’s closing set on Sunday night.

In a post on Facebook, Ryan described the experience as a ‘once in a lifetime trip and an unforgettable tribute to someone who was taken from this Earth far before his time’.

He added: “Words cannot express our gratitude to his family for allowing us, to everyone who listened to his story and took pictures with the banner and most importantly to the Creamfields production team for going above and beyond to accommodate us and go out of their way to allow us to honour his memory in such a fitting way.

“Stuart Mitchell, we are humbled to have been allowed to help you complete your journey with us.

“You will forever be a part of one of your favourite places.

“A piece of you always be with Creamfields.”
