A VAN which was loaded up with food for a foodbank service was stolen from King’s Church, in the town centre, earlier this week.
The van driver arrived on Tuesday morning to find the vehicle was missing – it had been stolen overnight between Monday and Tuesday.
People were at the Orford King’s table pop up on Tuesday morning but had to be turned away after being informed a out the theft.
A spokesperson for the church said: ‘‘For those who we serve we assure you that we will be doing all that we can to continue to provide food at our King's Table pop ups.
The van was stolen overnight between Monday and Tuesday
‘‘The van has been a 'Godsend' for us throughout the various lockdowns as it was also used to help with removals and deliveries as part of the wider community support for flood victims in our town.
‘‘Please join us in praying for those who have taken the van - God loves them and this could be part of their story!
‘‘Please pray for the van to be returned or found and that the food finds its way into the hands of people who need it!’’
In the meantime, the church are working on finding alternative transport for King’s Table pop ups and ask everyone to keep a look out for a white Luton van with the registration plate DV12 HLF.
If people do have any information please contact King's Church at info@kingschurchwarrington.co.uk or private message the church on their Facebook page.
