AS we approach the back-end of restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic, many couples can now enjoy their special day in a more normal capacity.

Brides and grooms have shared their own stories with us as to how their days went in the current climate.

WHAT DID YOU THINK OF EACH OTHER WHEN YOU FIRST MET?

We were very attracted to each other and quickly became best of friends.

WHERE AND WHEN DID YOU GET ENGAGED?

We got engaged on holiday in the Maldives in November 2019. Andrew was very nervous because he surprised me with the proposal and the holiday really began when I said yes.

HOW DID YOU FEEL ON THE MORNING OF YOUR BIG DAY?

We were both feeling overjoyed that the wedding could finally take place after all the previous Covid restrictions, but we were both quite nervous on the day.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING?

The wedding was amazing and the weather was absolutely perfect.

HOW MANY GUESTS DID YOU HAVE?

Close family and friends attended the church and 110 guests came to the marquee back at the farm Winwick.

WHAT DID YOUR GUESTS EAT?

The meal was a three-course roast beef dinner, cheese and biscuits provided by Warren Bibby and the team from Culcheth Village Club. That was followed by a hog roast for the evening guests (provided by Raby Farm, Wirral and excellently cooked again by Warren).

FAVOURITE PARTS OF THE DAY:

  • The unexpected guard of honour by all our farmer friends when we came out of church.
  • The tractor ride back to Andrew’s family home and seeing a wedding bus go down the tiny farm lane.
  • The best man’s speech was really entertaining.
  • Daresbury dairy ice cream cart.
  • Seeing all our families and friends enjoying the party.

YOUR WEDDING OUTFITS:

I wore an ivory lace wedding dress which I found and fell in love with straight away in Warrington shop, Bride.

The bridesmaids wore khaki green dresses and the flower girls wore cream dresses. Bouquets (cream roses, cream and purple lisianthus, lavender, wheat & Scottish thistles) and marquee flowers all made by the bride, family and friends.

The groom party and pageboys wore light grey three-piece suits, purchased from Groom in Warrington.

DID YOU GO ON A HONEYMOON? IF SO WHERE?

We went on a mini moon to the Cotswolds and the Malvern Hills for four days and did lots of eating.

TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE THINGS YOU HAVE IN COMMON, WHY YOU LOVE EACH OTHER AND WHY YOU WANTED TO GET MARRIED:

We both love the outdoors, food, family life, children, walking our cocker spaniel and growing things. Andrew loves growing crops and I love gardening and growing vegetables.

FINAL NOTE:

Thank you to Winwick church, local businesses and all family and friends who helped to make the day wonderful and to those who travelled a distance to share the day with us. We missed our New Zealand family who could not travel to be with us.
