EDITH Rose Booth, widower of the late Jim Booth, died at home on April 29 from pancreatic cancer, aged 88.

She was born and lived in Padgate.

Mrs Booth worked in stock control, export clerk, tax officer and the civil service.

She was a lynchpin of the Knit and Knatter Group, membership secretary of Old People’s Forum and organised all their many trips and coach tours/holidays. 

A stalwart of Robinsons Coach Holidays.

Edith raised money for many local charities by organising the sale of knitted products and raffles/tombolas. 

She was a much loved community character.

She was a devoted wife to her husband the late Jim Booth and mother to daughters Sandra and Susan. 

Edith will be sadly missed by her family, friends and members of the Old People’s Forum and the Knit and Knatter Group.

There was a direct cremation with a memorial service to be held in summer at Christ Church Padgate.

Funeral arrangements were by Co-op.
