BETFRED boss Fred Done has completed the £2.25million purchase of an office building in Birchwood.
The founder of the bookmaking giant has purchased Arpley House on Birchwood Boulevard, near to the company’s headquarters on Benson Road.
Previously owned and occupied by Homes England, as well as being the former base of Warrington NHS Clinical Commissioning Group, the site will be rebranded as 110 Birchwood Boulevard after undergoing a £1.25million refurbishment.
Renovation work on the 20-year-old premises is now underway, and is due to be completed in the final quarter of 2021.
The building will be split into various unit sizes ranging from 4,000 to 10,000sq ft over three floors in order to ‘accommodate the changing office market’ before being leased out.
Betfred asset manager Peter Buckles said: “This is a fantastic purchase and adds to our existing portfolio of 120,000 Sq ft of offices on Birchwood Boulevard.
“We believe we can attract new occupiers to the boulevard and allows our existing tenants to grow within our estate.
“We have owned property on Birchwood Boulevard for the past six years, and for the past two years occupancy levels have always been above 95 per cent.
“The office market in Birchwood is very active, and lots of occupiers are reassessing their office requirements.
“We believe that 110 Birchwood Boulevard will appeal to the market as a prominent headquarters-style building, in a great out-of-town location with a city centre fit-out.”
