A CARERS centre in Warrington is supporting Carers Week by coming together to help ‘make caring visible and valued.’
Carers Week, 7-13 June, is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlighting the challenges unpaid carers face, and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK.
It also helps people who do not think of themselves as having caring responsibilities.
Wired Carers Centre in Great Sankey celebrate Carers Week every year by holding activities and events.
This year, in order to keep carers safe, they are hosting an action packed week online.
The centre’s various sessions will include information and advice from services that can support carers, relaxation, mindfulness, yoga, live music, craft activities, fitness routines, and a Friday quiz session.
This year, carers across the country are continuing to face new challenges due to the pandemic.
There are 6.5 million carers in the UK and many are taking on more caring responsibilities for their relatives and friends who have a disability, mental health condition, addiction, or physical illness, who need support.
If you are a carer of any age and would like support, it could be that you just need a person to speak to, you can contact Warrington Carers Centre on: 01925 633492, wcsadmin1@wired.me.uk, www.wired.me.uk
