CHRIS Evans' Car Fest will still be going ahead in July – and more tickets are being released.

Limited tickets were initially put on sale for the event at Bolesworth Estate in November and sold out within hours.

Following the announcement of the government’s 'roadmap' to economic recovery, organisers say the latest ticket release represents the 'growing confidence' among the public that festivals, gatherings and major events can go ahead later this year.

The Car Fest team also say they will be ‘responsible and cautious’ and are prepared to create a socially distanced environment for the event if necessary.

Chris Evans, a former Padgate High student, created the celebration of all things motoring in 2012 to raise funds for children's charities.

He said: "We all need something to look forward to this year. I want to bring as many families together this summer as we can. Let’s make some new memories away from a screen."

Car Fest events over the past nine years have raised £16.5 million for various charities over the past nine years.

Chris added: “2020 was tough for us, but had an even more devastating impact on charities across the UK. It’s critical that we are able to bring Car Fest back this year and raise even more money to help our charities, that have continued with their essential work in supporting the most vulnerable of our communities.”

The event is celebrating its 10th birthday this year.

Musicians performing include All Saints, Basement Jaxx , McFly and Tom Grennan as well as the 'Car Fest supergroup' featuring The Feeling, Roger Daltrey Freya Ridings, and Beverley Knight.

Extra tickets go on sale at 8am on April 1 with adult day tickets starting from £74. Visit carfest.org
