We may be biased, but we think Warrington is a fantastic place to live and move to.

The town is loaded with history and is constantly being developed in order to make it an even better place to live.

Still not convinced? Here are seven reasons why Warrington is a fantastic place to live.

Warrington is an affordable place to live

Back in 2017, property expert Sarah Beeny named Warrington as the second best place to live in the UK, praising its highly affordable housing.

According to Zoopla, the average house price in the UK right now is £289, 622.

In Warrington, the average property price is currently £217,903 which is more than £70,000 cheaper than the UK average.

However, you can find local houses at a much cheaper price point than this; the cheapest one for sale right now is just £61,500.

… and there is also a property to suit everyone’s preferences

While the town is know for its affordable housing, it is also home to some luxe properties that would be suited to a more high end budget.

This five bedroom home is currently one of the most expensive for sale in Warrington.

The Lymm property is on the market for £1,295,000 and it truly is a luxe place to live.

There’s plenty to do

One thing is for certain- you will never get bored in Warrington.

From days out at Gulliver’s World Theme Park to an educational trip to the Warrington Museum and Art Gallery, there’s so much to do.

For a spot of shopping, Junction Nine or Gemini Retail park are some of the best areas to visit if you want variety.

Warrington Market is also home to some fantastic independent traders who sell everything you could possibly need.

It’s not as busy as Liverpool

One of the biggest perks of living in Warrington is that it is so much quieter than the surrounding large cities- but they are close enough to visit for a day trip.

Liverpool and Manchester are both a 40 minute drive from Warrington- and both locations can also be visited by train.

It’s more than just an industrial town

There’s no denying that Warrington has a strong industrial and manufacturing history.

However, the town is so much more than that and it is also home to some beauty spots.

Woolston Park and Walton Hall and Gardens are among the most tranquil and beautiful places to visit when you want to escape busy city life for a while.

Best of all, the beautiful Moore Nature Reserve is just a 13 minute drive away and is a fantastic little place to walk through and explore.

There are some great schools in Warrington

According to the Government website, 57 primary and secondary schools in Warrington received an ‘outstanding’ or ‘good’ rating between 2017-2020.

Green Lane Community Special School in Woolston and King's Leadership Academy in Woolston are two schools with an ‘outstanding’ rating, while Penketh High School and St Monica’s Catholic Primary school are just two to receive a ‘good’ rating.

It has a great transport system

Getting in an around Warrington is easy, thanks to the town’s fantastic bus and train facilities.

Warrington West Railway Station even won an award from the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT).

It was praised for the quality of its construction and the benefits it has brought to the town.

Warrington’s transport system is only set to improve further, thanks to the proposed Western Link which would connect the A56 Chester Road with the A57 Sankey Way in Great Sankey.

A planning application for this is set to be submitted in May and it could be completed by 2026.
