SUPER League has confirmed a new start date for the 2021 season.
The campaign will now kick off on March 25 - a fortnight later than planned.
Following the later end to the 2020 season, March 11 was the initial date earmarked for the start of 2021.
However, after a sustained rise in Covid cases put England back into a national lockdown, clubs have agreed to push the date back to increase the chances of the opening round being played in front of paying spectators.
The Super League Grand Final is currently unaffected and remains on the same date - Saturday, October 9.
Super League says it is continuing to review the fixture schedule and that details of that will be released in due course.
With two less weeks in which to complete an already cramped campaign, the format of the competition could potentially change.
