A SERIES of raids have been carried out in connection with an investigation into the supply of drugs at HMP Risley.
Cheshire Police executed search warrants at five addresses in the Crewe and Alsager areas earlier today, Wednesday, over the probe.
Two women and three men, aged between 19 and 31, were arrested during the raids – with all five suspects remaining in custody assisting officers with their enquiries.
Quantities of drugs and cash, as well as four drones, were seized from the properties.
A force spokesman said: “Police investigating the supply of drugs to HMP Risley have arrested five people.
“On Wednesday, January 13, police conducted five warrants at addresses in Crewe and Alsager as part of an investigation into the supply of drugs to HMP Risley.
“Two women aged 19 and 25 were arrested at addresses on Kestrel Drive and Pyrus Avenue in Crewe, while two men aged 26 and 31 were arrested at addresses on Woodside Avenue and Grove Court in Alsager.
“A third man, aged 31, was arrested at an address on Waldrons Lane in Crewe.
“Four drones were seized during the warrants along with drugs and cash.
“All five remain in custody helping police with their enquiries.”
