MORE than 200 patients are currently receiving care at Warrington Hospital after contracting coronavirus.
Sadly, this the highest Covid-19 patient total for Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust since the start of the pandemic.
As of this afternoon, Wednesday, the Lovely Lane site is caring for 204 patients that have tested positive for the virus, of which 26 are in intensive care.
This again demonstrates a rise compared with yesterday, when coronavirus patient numbers peaked at 194.
To date, the hospital trust has tested 52,055 people for the virus, with 3,897 tests returning positive.
In the past 24 hours, a further two patients have sadly died after contracting Covid-19, bringing the trust’s virus death toll to 342.
An additional 15 patients have however been discharged since yesterday after recovering from coronavirus, with the total number of patients discharged increasing to 1,209.
