A PRIMARY school in Orford has been taking part in a ‘reverse advent calendar’ this Christmas.
Pupils at St Benedict’s Catholic Primary School have been filling shoeboxes with goods for the foodbank during the month.
And a whole room at the Quebec Road school had to be dedicated for storing the donations due to the success of the scheme.
Head teacher Chris Perry said: “I am so proud of our children, families and staff.
“2020 has been a year like no other, with so many people having to do without due to the economic crisis caused by the pandemic.
“The generosity of families and staff at St Benedict’s will really make a difference to so many people this Christmas.
“Our school mission is ‘in the light of Jesus, we learn to shine’ and this month we really have shone.”
