SHOPPERS are being urged to take advantage of Warrington Market’s extended opening hours this bank holiday weekend.

The new £11 million site at Time Square is home to more than 50 independent traders, offering a wide range of goods and services.

The Cookhouse features 12 traders serving hot and cold cuisines from around the world.

This bank holiday weekend, the market will be open:

Saturday, August 29

  • Main market hall – 9am to 5pm
  • Cookhouse – 11am to 7pm (some traders open for breakfast from 9am)

 Sunday, August 30

  • Main market hall – closed
  • Cookhouse – 11am to 7pm (some traders open for breakfast from 9am)

Monday, August 31

  • Main market hall – 10am to 4pm
  • Cookhouse – 11am to 7pm (some traders open for breakfast from 9am)

After the bank holiday weekend, the main market hall will be open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm, and the Cookhouse 11am to 7pm, with some traders open for breakfast from 9am. Some individual trader opening times may differ slightly.

The market is home to a variety of traders offering a wide range of goods and services, including fresh produce, baked goods, sweets, jewellery, fabrics, comics, clothes and musical instruments, and services such as hairdressers, beauty, tattoos, key cutting, shoe repairs, and clothing alterations.

The Cookhouse has culinary treats on offer, from Eastern delights such as Thai and Chinese, to the freshest Italian pizza, Indian street food and Mexican favourites.

There are also two fully stocked bars, serving a range of cask ales, local brews, wines, spirits and cocktails.

Food is available to takeaway, or you can eat-in at the Cookhouse, which also features a terrace for customers to dine outside during warmer weather.

Council leader Cllr Russ Bowden said: “The new Warrington Market has got off to a really successful start.

“It’s been fantastic to see so many people visiting the venue and having a great experience.

“If you haven’t had chance to come along and see it for yourself yet, this bank holiday weekend is the perfect opportunity.

“Our traders have told us they’ve been delighted to welcome many new customers and young people, alongside long-standing customers.

“From people visiting our fantastic range of stalls, to families enjoying the tastes of the Cookhouse, the market has been a bustling hive of activity, which is great news for our town centre.”
