A WOMAN who failed to seek urgent veterinary treatment for her dog has been banned from keeping animals.
Emma Connolly, from Howley, admitted two counts of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal at Wigan Magistrates Court on Tuesday, February 25.
In August last year, the 30-year-old failed to provide care for her Staffordshire bull terrier Lucy – who was kept at a property on Forshaw Street in Orford – over her skin condition, ‘excessive thirst’ and hind leg weakness and pain.
Connolly, of Wellington Street, was banned from keeping all animals for the next 10 years and handed an eight-week curfew from 7pm to 7am.
She was also ordered to pay court costs of £1,220 plus a £90 victim surcharge.
