ONE of Warrington's finest country houses is on the market with an asking price of £6m.
Deansgreen Hall comes with its own helicopter hangar and six further garages, as well as a luxurious leisure suite with an indoor pool and gym.
The hall itself is set out over four floors and offers 20,000sqft of accommodation – including eight en-suite bedrooms, five reception rooms and an ambassadorial-sized kitchen and a self-contained annex for staff.
A separate three-bedroomed lodge, pavilion, two lakes and a range of outbuildings complete the package.
“Deansgreen Hall is truly a rarity to the market and represents a unique opportunity to acquire a substantial mansion house that is unsurpassed architecturally, with a lavish bespoke interior,” says Crispin Harris of Jackson-Stops.
“The hall has a period core with an abundance of latter-day extensions. The numerous turreted rooms with spire-like roofs add to the feeling of grandeur and elegance. This house was built to impress, and impress it does!
“The splendid exterior is only amplified by the opulence of the interior, with many grand rooms boasting vaulted, moulded ceilings and panelled walls – all with bespoke modern fittings.”
Ringfenced by its own mature 11-acre grounds and situated off quiet country lanes, Deansgreen Hall is in Lymm. Approached by two electric gated entrances – flanked by high walling and hedging either side – the two drives lead to a large turning circle in front of the house, with a central stone fountain.
The hall itself makes for an arresting sight thanks to the baronial-style Ionic columned portico with a first-floor balcony leading off the master bedroom.
On the ground floor, the lavish Smallbone kitchen/breakfast room has integrated appliances, an AGA oven and a central island with seating for 10. The ‘wow factor’ continues into the substantial great hall; drawing room with Inglenook fireplace; dining room; cosy snug; study; and sitting room with doors leading through to a stunning stone-tiled orangery.
Bedroom accommodation is set out over the first and second floors, which also house the self-contained apartment and an impressive games room with a mezzanine music room above.
A party room with a starlit ceiling, Ionic columns and a drop-down cinema screen is located on the lower ground floor, which has surround sound and oversized cinema seating.
“The leisure suite is particularly impressive – comprising a gym; tiled swimming pool with underwater lighting; bar area with a US-style fridge freezer; jacuzzi; changing room; and separate shower,” adds Crispin.
“The rear of the property looks out onto beautiful manicured gardens with large expanses of lawns. The landscaped lakes are stocked with carp. Overlooking one of them is a picturesque white gazebo.”
With a hangar big enough to accommodate an aircraft and enough garages to house a fleet of sports cars, Deansgreen Hall is a premier residence befitting the most elite of Cheshire homeowners.

History of Deansgreen Hall
Local records show that a house has existed on the site since 1864, although what it looked like is unknown. It’s most likely to have been the main section, which leads to the front door today.
Formerly the property of the Tatton Estate, previous occupiers have included a British Army Colonel and the Mayor of Chester, who used it as a country retreat between the wars.
Used for commercial purposes by Fairclough Homes in the 1970s, it then passed into private ownership from the 1990s. The current owners bought it in 2006. They remodelled it and presented it in its current condition – having added a pool, media room, extensive garaging and staff accommodation.
